Manika Brightens Up the Pop Scene
By DENNY DIRECTO
July 12, 2012
When I met Manika, homegirl was wearing a neon green leather vest and I knew I found my soul sister. The young, bright (literally) Las Vegas native is coming off a national tour with pop sensations One Direction, and is stepping out in a big way with the release of her latest single, Good Girls.
Everything from her personal style to her music is just so…her. Though Manika (which is Tagalog for "doll"), sites major pop stars like Rihanna, Pink, Alanis Morrisette and Beyonce as major influences. Her songs are the perfect combination of pop, dance and girl power. I dare you not to whip your hair listening to her.
Click the video and catch a special acoustic performance of Good Girls and be on the look out when the music video drops later this month.
