Before the premiere of her new reality show R&B Divas, Faith Evans sat down with The Insider's Kevin Frazier to dish on what viewers can expect from the show and what role Whitney Houston played in making the project possible.

"She was just such a giving, caring person," Faith said of Whitney, whom she worked with on their 90s hit Heartbreak Hotel. "I had talked to Whitney probably a year or two ago about being a part of this album with all these female singers when I'm ready to do it. After losing her, I sort of just had a revelation that it's time to do it."

The new series follows five dynamic singers (Faith, Nicci Gilbert, Montifah Carter, Syleena Johnson and KeKe Wyatt) as they collaborate on making one killer album -- each of them inspired by the memory of and their unconditional love for the late, great Whitney Houston.

Faith explained what sets this reality show apart from the others, saying, "If you see conflict, there's always resolution, and the resolution isn't a fight."

R&B Divas premieres August 20 at 10/9c on TV One.
